Mission and Goals

The Run Wild Mission:
Manage, time and promote running and multi-sport events at the highest level possible with continual growth, one-of-a-kind user experience and events that are respected throughout their communities. Promote health and fitness through running, walking and multi-sport events for the benefit of all; for fitness, fun, safety, and overall good health.

Run Wild Goals:

• Put on events at the highest level leaving participants, spectators, volunteers, and sponsors feeling very satisfied.
• Listen to the participants and take feedback to enhance future events.
• Bring on "World Class" sponsors and partners that add significant value to our participants and spectators.
• Promote running, walking and multi-sport events for fitness, fun safety, and overall good health.
• Give back to the running community by supporting the local clubs, organizations, and business.
• Have fun, put on quality events and always try to over-deliver!

History

Run Wild Racing, Inc. was founded in 2004 with a focus on promoting and managing high quality running, race walking and multi-sport events. Run Wild Racing has assisted over 100 clients since 2004 and helped raise over 1 million dollars for different charitable organizations or causes related to these events. Run Wild Racing created, managed and grew the Columbus Grand Prix series from 2004 through 2008 in which the series was the only one of its kind in Central Ohio. Having produced over 267 events in total over our first five years, Run Wild Racing sold off many of its events in 2009 to Premier Races in order focus on less events, but grow these few events into something much larger and beneficial for all.

Run Wild Racing, Inc.  in 2009 and beyond has a focus on major event clients like the Pittsburgh Marathon and the New Albany Walking Classic along with our new half marathon series called the Spirit of America race series and other niche events that can attract thousands of athletes to participate in the events such as Run King’s Island or the Pilgrim’s Progress 4 Miler on Thanksgiving.

Over the years, Run Wild Racing has prided itself on key aspects of racing like USA Track & Field certified courses, Chip Timing, Technical shirts. High quality awards and cool finisher medals to name just a few. It will be our continued focus to offer high value and support at our events that look to set the bar with customer experience.

Doug Grout is the CEO and Executive Race Director for Run Wild Racing since its inception in 2004 and continues to lead the team into 2009 and beyond. Doug has been and is very passionate about running, race walking and triathlons since 1989. Doug has completed one ultra-marathon, thirteen marathons and hundreds of other athletic based events. Doug was the former event manager for CompuServe/AOL handling over twenty-six shows are all over North America. Overall, Doug’s brings over fourteen years of event marketing and management experience to the table along with his drive and determination from his days in the Military.
